Field notes
Somebody has to clean up.
Floors hit zero. Discords went quiet. Roadmaps ended up in the landfill. While everyone else wrote threads about it, the vultures sat on the tombstones and waited.
Salty Vultures is a collection for the ones who stayed. Every vulture is drawn by its own contract, from a base, 71 traits and a set of color palettes stored on Ethereum. No IPFS, no server to switch off. The image is rebuilt from the chain every time someone looks at it.
The flock
Every one is different.
These are real images made by the contract in a test run. Yours will roll differently: traits come from the block after your mint, and no two vultures share the same DNA.
Fresh from the nest
How it works
Mint, hatch, fuse, feed.
Mint
On OpenSea for seven days, up to 5 per wallet, at 0.0001 ETH each plus the Ethereum network fee.
Hatch
Traits come from the hash of the block after your mint. Nobody can see or pick them in advance, us included. Your vulture hatches a few seconds later.
Fuse
Feed four Scavengers to a fifth. The survivor keeps its face and climbs a level. From level 1 up, three make one.
Feed
Give your vulture an NFT from a collection born before Salty Vultures. Up to three meals a day, every carcass counted in its metadata.
Fusion
Climb the food chain.
The survivor eats its own kind and keeps its face. Its look never changes, only its level in the metadata. Every fusion burns vultures for good, so the flock gets smaller as it gets meaner.

Rarity
Hard caps, written in the contract.
The rarest traits stop at fixed numbers, sized on the first 10,000 vultures. When a cap is reached that trait is gone for good, for everyone, the team included.
The Graveyard
Only the dead are on the menu.
Feed your vulture an NFT from any collection that existed before Salty Vultures. The carcass goes into the Graveyard contract and your vulture's Carcasses Eaten count goes up, right there in its metadata on OpenSea.

FAQ
Questions from the living.
How much does it cost?
0.0001 ETH per vulture, plus the Ethereum network fee for the transaction.
How many can I mint?
Up to 5 per wallet, during the seven-day drop on OpenSea. Five Scavengers are exactly what the first fusion needs.
When do I see my vulture?
A few seconds after your mint, once the next block lands. If OpenSea still shows it as Hatching, use Refresh metadata on the item page.
Can the team pick the rare ones?
No. The team reserve is 500 vultures and they roll their traits from the chain exactly like everyone else. Rare traits have hard caps that nobody can raise.
When does fusion open?
After the mint closes. Five Scavengers make a Bone Picker, then three of a level make one of the next, up to The Committee.
Where does the art live?
Inside the contract on Ethereum. The image and the metadata are generated on-chain every time a marketplace or wallet asks for them.
